Root Unrevoked latest beta able to root hboot 2.2/2.10 and version 3.70

Used the updated link to download the beta from the top of this thread. There is another user that posts a link discussing the beta version. He says it beta is a bit glitchy and it doesn't give the phone enough time to reboot. If you push the file button in unrevoked it pauses the program. when the program says rebooting press file until the phone starts to boot up again. All you need to do is pause it until you hear the PC detect your phone is connected. I did this and have the hboot 2.10 and new 004 version. Worked first time. I tried 6 times before pausing and it kept failing at different points. I am now submitting this post via my new free wireless hot spot connection. Yeah! :D

Also a few people have asked about Hboot drivers. I used the existing hboot drivers that I installed before I found out the previous version of unrevoked wouldn't work for me with my updated evo. They are the drivers on wiki. didn't download anything new.

did you get a successful root using the old Windows hboot drivers

Just used the beta and it worked the second time.(3.7, 2.10u) First time it told me that my firmware was too new, and didn't try rebooting phone. Second time I paused the app during reboot and it worked like a charm! I like the little note in there by the way; the status bar says, "I'm making note here; HUGE SUCCESS!" or some such. Thanks a ton everyone!

i am new and need to know how to root my phome i have the 2.02 do i need to hook it to my comp. with a cable or is it a one touch mode

That is the same message I was getting as well the first 6 times until I used the pause method.

You will need to hook it up to your computer. I assume you have windows? Use the beta link in this thread and select the type of operating system that you have. You will also need the USB Hboot drivers from unrevoked. you can find it on the unrevoked site follow the instructions to install the drivers. Its simple they have screen shots. Once the driver is installed correctly. Just open and run the beta unrevoked. From what I understand with the 2.02 you shouldn't have to worry about pausing unrevoked. I think you will be fine. When unrevoked says done you are good to go!

It looks like unrevoked is just about to release their new one click method. I would wait for that.

I did it the long way, but there is more risk, and you are likely only days away from a much easier root.

Does anyone have an idea will the full version of unrevoked 3.3 will be out for 3.70 because I'm still on unrevoked 3.2 on 3.29...It sounds like the beta still has potential bugs in it.

did they get it fixed or what. The drivers would not work properly for me I don't know what the hell im doing
