unroot before ICS update?

I have a rooted AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 (kernel 2.6.35.7). The ICS update is now available, but I wasn't sure if I have to unroot the phone before doing a carrier update to ICS. If I do unroot and upgrdade to ICS will I be able to root again or do I have to wait for a new rooted kernel compatible with ICS?

You'll have to wait until someone makes a root method for it

If you stay rooted, you'll need the stock recovery to accept an update.

Or just wait for a dev make a root-safe ICS update. Which should be within the day that it is released. And it'll only take a few minutes to install.

when i had a droid x on verizon i was rooted and did an update and just lost root ....not sure if its the same thing with att.
