Root Unroot Help Needed

I rooted with Unrevoked (Froyo) and I need to unroot to take my phone in to Sprint (since it has been restarting on it's own). The instructions are straight foward (thanks), but my USB on the phone is not working so I cannot hook the EVO up to the computer (another reason to take it to Sprint).

I put the unroot files on my SD Card, and I used the S-ON tool to get S-ON. I put the PC36IMG.zip file on the root of my SD card too. However, when I boot into Recovery it is not asking me if I want to apply the update. Can I just flash this zip like I would flash a ROM or other zip? I don't want to mess up my phone by doing something wrong, so any guidance you can offer would be most appreciated. :)

No you can't flash a PC36IMG file from recovery, won't work that way.

Did you name the file "PC36IMG.zip", or did you name it" PC36IMG"?

When looking at the file on your pc it should look like this: "PC36IMG" Notice it doesn't have the .zip at the end because windows hides the extensions. The file on your SD card probably is: PC36IMG.zip.zip, which bootloader won't recognize.

Try that and then let us know.

Thanks, Granite. I did not name it "PC36IMG.zip" since it is already a zip file. That much I'm sure that I have right. When I get to the bootloader, it's just not recognizing the file. It even does that quick little search and doesn't find anything.
If it doesn't run the PC36IMG file, will Sprint even know if the phone is rooted. I already have S-ON...

the file need to be named exactly PC36IMG do not add an extra zip as windows hides extensions. it needs to be also on the root of the card which means not in any folder. once those two are done then you need to go into the bootloader(power+vol down). if they are named correctly and on the root of the card, the bootloader will see it and ask you if you want to update. select yes and you are done.

Thanks for your help. I'll try it again tonight. It just seems like I'm doing everything right and it's just not picking up the PC36IMG file. I'll let you know how it goes...
