unroot without pc Help.

ok that is the standard system recovery. did you flash only a kernel and not an entire ROM?

I dont want to keep stealing your time so ill try to explain a bit better. First thing i did was flashed EL26 with AGAT then i flashed Kobridge's Tweaked Stock rooted FL04 ROM v1.0 ( i think this is the entire rom not the kernel not sure) to my phone which made my phone look like it was the sprint version then i tried to flash FL22 with mobile odin and failed and now i am stock at the logo with samsum recovery and i can get into odin but the one for the pc only ( power + volume down) I hope i am making is easier for you to help me out now :)

okay which FL22 file did you use? yeah if your phone booted all the way up you flashed the rom for FL04

By that link you flashed the kernel only, the ROMs are under the Leaked repository section

Rwilco12's Android Repository

This may be a problem if you cant flash via pc odin

the full ROM is a 500 plus meg file. If it is like 8 meg that is only a kernel

ok then I will go later today to a place so they can tell me if they can fix the phone's port and i will get it fixed so i can fix the phone the whole purpose of this was to not spend money and get samsung to fix it without me paying because i just got the phone like a month ago but its fine ill let you know later today or tomorrow if i manage to fix the port if not ill keep trying on my own to get it fix. I hope i can i don't want to go back to my ZTE Warp.

That does suck, do you have accident insurance on your phone?? Is the port damaged by accidentally flexing it too much with the plug in?

I didn't put insurance since I've never broken a phone before and yes it's probably because of the flexing but i am not a 100% sure on that it could have been something else while plugging it with the original charger i don't know one moment it was ok and then it was a bit hard to put it in and it didn't work anymore..

Lol... If I was you I wouldn't have played with them stock roms until I had learned alreastv what a modem and rom and kernel are.. srry im just kinda blown away. But I was where you are the first time I tried fl16.

You have a few options. You are now stuck with no recovery on a rom that won't boot. None of the stock jb roms come with a recovery. Right now you can't flash anything, or restore a backup.

You need to get on your computer. Download boost fg31 one click from the rom repository. The one click exe has its own built in odin. When your back on fg31 your going to need to re root again just like when your phone was new.

But just be happy that you can still get your phone back

Keep us updated.

I am happy to know i can still fix it also i have to connect the phone to the pc to do what you are saying, right?

Yeah that could be a damaged port. I know there is a place called ReTech here in Gainesville, that does repairs on all kinds of devices like this, there may be something like that near you.

I used to not have insurance on my phones, but once I past the 250 dollar mark for a phone that mentality changed (big difference between buying another Prevail vs buying another GS2)

LOL i feel you. hey tell me if this is the port for our phone LINK FOR PORT I went to a repair shop and the guy was an @ss and he told me it would cost me 250 dollars to replace it..... because it is connected to the motherboard but he was waaaay too unprofessional so i don't take his word for it i will open the phone and replace it myself just like i do with everything else. It shouldn't be hard since i've had to change my computer's screen in the past. I just need to be sure before i open the phone if this is the port or not. thanks

yeah that would be the port our S2 are the same phone as the Epic touch 4g both are sph-d710 phones (the boost one just had the BST on the number denoting ROM installed on it.) I bet the 250 price was because he wasn't actually replacing the port as much as just swapping the motherboard. That is a common practice with repairing stuff these days. Even in the work I do the company would rather replace the item all together than have the technician repair the existing device to save time.

looks like that site even offers installation for not too bad a price too

LOL i knew i am going to buy these and replace it myself. i will pm you when i fix it. thanks for all the help codegerm i really appreciated the time you put into my sexy phone! :)

Do let us know when you get it all back with a working USB port. Ther are some great One click jelly bean ROM's for this phone. Everyone has their own favorite, and changing your launcher can give your phone a different look and feel too.

I always root my android and i had 6 and this is the first time i get to mess things up to this point! alright i will.

do you know where i can find a link someone showing how to dissamble this specific phone i can't find one...

Before you disassemble the phone try a few things first. Number 1 when you plug the phone into the wall socket charger with the phone off do you see it start charging...? I highly doubt your port is bad just as you messed up and got stuck where you are.

If the answer is yes to #1 then im pretty sure we re good with the port.
#2. Plug into the computer and open odin. Then by holding power + volume down go into odin mode. Press volume up after reading disclaimer.

Now does odin show a highlighted yellow box?

If yes to #2 then we are good to go

You have to remember that you r phone isn't on and you won't get a reaction from anything but odin on the pc.

One last thing if you answered no to #2. When I was flashing one of the jb stock roms I remember reading something on the thread about a specific kernel taking away usb port connectivity. I think its the fk23 repacked kernel with agats recovery for jb tw roms. Which I am using. But since you only have stock recovery I doubt you flashed that.. I will try to locate that but I dont think it applies to you bc you have stock recovery

Keep us updated. And don't replace or tamper with the port yet

I'm going to pm you.. I want you to call me so I can try and trouble shoot this

Found the thread. I don't think this applies to you bc I don't think you flashed this kernel. But notice what it says about usb port.. here's a screen shot and a link to particular thread.. I've used that kernel on fl16 and fk23

Unfortunately the problem he is having is the USB port not USB storage. From what I understand what happened is that after he got EL26 on with CWM he flashed to FL04, from there was trying to Mobile Odin back to stock FI22 and flashed the kernel only instead of the full ROM, and now is in a state where the phone will not boot and will only go into stock recovery or download mode, and lost CWM when the kernel was flashed.

well once you get your phone able to be connected to the pc by usb cable, fixing this soft brick issue will be quite easy

I will call them up before i send my phone for fixing i can't do it myself because the port is soldered to the motherboard of the phone. so yea $50 for saving my phone.

Still try the steps I posted a few posts ago before coming to the conclusion that the port is bad. Because I can't help but feel like your assuming the port is bad under false pretenses;)

Hopefully that's the case
