Help Unrooted - Boot Loop - can't get into recovery

Several times since she updated to Gingerbread, my wife's stock EVO has rebooted itself only to get stuck in a boot loop. I pulled the battery and tried to boot into recovery but got the red triangle/exclamation point screen instead.

I eventually managed to get it to reboot normally after another battery pull, but that hardly seems like a fix because I know it will happen again. Any ideas?

not sure on the bootloop but you cannot access recovery on a nonrooted phone. you have to have a custom recovery installed to have access to recovery. and you cannot do that unless you are rooted.

Ahh okay. I didn't know that. The weird thing is that I can get to the white screen with the option of going into recovery, but when I choose it is when I end up at the black screen with the red triangle.

Oh well...this is what the insurance is for, I guess.
