Root unviersal androot, android 2.1 update

It's a good idea to wipe data and cache before EVERY flash. Let the phone boot up for first times after rom flashes, they usually take a while because it's building a cache database (up to 10-15 mins on some roms).

I don't wipe when upgrading to a new version of defrost. its only really necessary if going from one dev to another pt from one version of Android to another.

only having two problems and that is im not getting a 3g signal no more :( checked apn settings 3 times to make sure i have the correct ones but still no joy, wireless works fine but prefer to have 3g when out and about....any ideas??? and also the first game i installed installed fine to sd card but now everything else i install is installing on the internal memory

No worries. For anyone wondering its always a good idea to wipe before installing a New Rom. It is required when going 2.1 to 2.2.
it wasnt the install without wiping that was the issue
known issue with clockworks first nandroid backup. it corrups the boot so you have to restore and it will work fine after that

any ideas why i havent got 3g anymore and why only one game has installed on the sd card and rest installed on internal memory

ive managed to get my 3g working....forgot to restart phone after putting settings in lol

As for install onto the sim card if i go into manage apps some of my apps have the option to move to sd card and some dont....is this how its meant to be??

I did do a full wipe and the root i used was part of the custom 2.2 rom

dont get confused too much

what was the rom? did you flash one with a2sd+ or one with froyo apps2sd?
if its froyo apps2sd then you will need to do the trick to enable the installonlocation 2

if its a2sd+ then ignore what the rom is telling you as its running a script in the background moving them too the sdcard without the rom knowining (you need an ext 2/3/4 partition for that tho)
