Root UOT and system files ?

Im trying to get the com.htc.resources.apk, framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk off my phone. I copy and pasted to the root of my sd card but I can not get them to show in dolphin file browser to move them to my pc for upload to the UOT kitchen. I checked the permissions and owner and it is set the same as the files I can see. I used root explorer to copy and paste to the sd card. I also set dolphin to show system files.
Any idea what im missing here?

Edit: Looks like i was coping to the wrong area of the sd.

You can also just pull them out of an already downloaded ROM on your PC

Glad to see you got it though

I have modified the rom on my phone so I think I need the files off the phone.
Also I can see the files on the sd card with root explorer but no matter what I do I cant get them to show up on the pc. Not in Linux or Windows 7.

Edit : I dont know why but i had to restart the phone now they show up.

Use ES File Explorer. Click menu-settings, scroll down to "root explorer" and check it. Back out to the main screen. Click the star button in the menu bar at the top. Click the phone icon. You are now exploring the root file system. You can now copy the necessary files to the sd card. From there, mount the phone as usb storage and upload the files to UoT.

Thats what i did with the paid root explorer but for some reason i had to restart the phone then the files showed up in Dolphin explorer.
Thanks for the help.

Trying to mod files.that have already been modded will give you a shft error if trying to use the kitchen.
Im not sure if they were or not Im using the stock deodexed and i have flashed the screen shot reboot menu and hacked hot spot. I have nandroids if it dont work

The easiest way to go about doing this is to get a copy of the rom you're using and open it up with 7zip. navigate to the location of said .apk's listed above and open those up. Navigate inside each one of those and locate the "res" folder. drag and drop each one of those into a seperate folder named appropriately.
Mod the .png's inside those res folders, then drag and drop those modded folders back where you got them.
Make sure you click the navigate up folder button in the top left corner so the archive "updates".

Then when you use the kitchen, make a mod using thos those folders. Or make a mod with one of the formats on the site. Open said mod with 7zip navigate to each of those .apk's and drag and drop the modded versions in. Navigate up folder button to update the archive.

Once you have all of the .apk's completed. Nandroid and flash. It "should" work. This is how I always made my battery and notification mods. ;)

Thanks Granite
I copy and pasted this into a text doc so I can save it for later. That clears a lot up for me.

Thats the way I pretty much do it. I don't really go to the kitchen anymore. Maybe just every now and then to get some graphics that are already made :D
