Root Update a rooted X to GB? Please help...

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, but I'm still very novice at this despite rooting my X months ago and applying Apex.

Here is the state of my rooted X:
System Version - 2.3.340.MB810
Android version - 2.2.1
Baseband version - BP_C_01.09.07P
Kernel Version - 2.6.32.9-g55626e1
Build number - ApeX 1.3.1

So if a kind soul can help me update it (and keep it rooted) to GB, I'd be eternally grateful. I'm very very tired of the OTA pop-ups telling me to install now or later.

cheers.
matt.

I appreciate the quick reply, Metfanant (tough season for us!).

So my next questions...

How to SBF to stock (do I use Titanium Backup?)

How to re-root

From there, I do see the files I need, and the step-by-step directions to doing that seem pretty straight forward.

when is it NOT a tough season for us?? :p

i would type it all out...but there is no reason to reinvent the wheel...

SBF’ing the Droid X U D G

go to that website and follow the directions...it will have you on stock Froyo....just make sure you've got a full battery...or at least close to it..

once you have finished the SBF....google for "z4root 1.3" that is how you will root your phone...then you're going to need the Droid 2 bootstrap...

Edit: OH! and you might as well back up all your apps now with titanium while you're still running ApeX

Well crap. My work PC requires admin rights in order to install RSDlite. And I have Macs at home.

Any other suggestions?

there is a way to do it directly through the terminal on Mac OSX...and i REALLY should learn how because it would make life much easier because the computer i use most is my MacBook Pro...but luckily i have a couple Windows PC's in the house and already knew how to use RSDLite so ive always stuck with that...

BUT...

http://androidforums.com/droid-x-al...ootable-linux-cd-soley-sbf-headache-free.html

follow these instructions...and it will help you create a bootable Linux CD that should work on any Mac or Windows PC and will do the SBF for you...

i've never personally done this...BUT from what ive heard, once you have the CD ready to go...its SO easy...

you cant go from say apex 1.4.1 to apex v2.0.0 rc2 right? i figured fab would have been able to implement that since jrummy did with liberty
