Root Update help

I am currently running 2.3.15 and using apex 1.0.2.2. Can I just go to bootloader and load one of my previous backups that had no rom on and install the ota?
 
If you do a factory data reset, and make sure you have all bloatware intact, there's no reason why you can't do an OTA update. Why would you want to do that, though, as opposed to just updating through sbf?
 
or through the update.zip from TBH. that would upgrade your bootloader as well. The SBF won't upgrade it (bootloader that is).
 
I figured it would be easier just to restore to previous backup and do the ota.. Can you explain your method? Im pretty new to all it. I want apex's new rom is why I want to update
 
Download the tbh 2.32.3 update from either the site or the app. Go into recovery, format system,mount sysyem then install file from your download folder.. Thats about it.

update.zip updates the bootloader to 30.04. That's what I did. Is it necessary? Not if you're on 30.03, but what the heck. We love progress.

Updating your bootloader to 30.04, if you're not at 30.03 is necessary. You'll find it in The Black Hat app. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY as you have to format system and mount system in ClockworkMod Recovery.

Then you can upgrade to .320 using the sbf that's downloadable in the same TBH program (although I think I saw it elsewhere outside of the app, on the web). From there, if you want to further update to .340, you can just install Apex 1.3. I recommend that. It is, in my opinion, a great rom by the finest rom develper around, imo. The rom is very stable and actually nice looking, as DX roms go, for a change. ;)
