Root update on CWM problems.

Sorry everybody for going mia. I have been VERY busy. I have discovered that there are more problems than we thought. Cache is not the only partition that does not clear properly. System seems fine from a clear, backup, or flash standpoint but I know for sure that /data is not right. CWM will say it successfully cleared, etc. but its not. if I try to flash a backup all seems ok at first, but the /data stays the same even if i just go in cwm and format data, it is still intact. Right now I cant open play store, a few apps have icons but are not actually present. I cannot do a factory reset from in the phone. apps crash alot. I am currently returning my phone to factory state using the ZTE update tool. I havent had time to really test out what else could be bad so i have no idea if its just /data messing up or what

Thanks for the update. I appreciate the effort and the risk you have been taking trying to get cwm at 100%. If you wouldn't mind giving an update about how the zte update tool worked. Thanks

Has anyone tried a newer CWM? Personally I dont care about the EULA if it works. I'm ready and willing for any testing required. Thanks for all the hard work, guys!

the zte update tool worked just fine. I did need to fastboot on over to my stock recovery.img in order to be able to boot into FTM (download) mode. It downloads a whole rom zip and quickly deletes it when done so idk how to keep it so we might be able to use it.

As for a newer CWM, i believe thats exactly what we need. to me, it seems the problem is cwm4s lack of support for internalsd inside /data partition. Anyone know how to port CWM4 to 6?

I rooted my phone and did not back up data before I was messing around with other recoveries and now I lost my stock 3e recovery. When I hold power and down all I get is a black screen and the green android guy but my phone still boots up and works. Any suggestions what to do?????

Will there be an odin file to do a custom recovery once there is a stable release????

Looking for any comments or suggestions ...thanks for the help

i think i know what is possibly causing the issues with CWM. it is an older version that we have so far. I think it is mounting the internal storage instead of the external storage. CWM 4 was made before ICS was ever thought of. So therefore that could lead to the symlink issues. I will try to get someone to start work on TWRP or if i can figure it out i will start work on it. or a newer version of CWM. :p Just letting everyone know it could be the reason for the issues thus far.

as far as i know, agat was working on cwm 6.x with me, but kinda stopped. There are some errors with it, can't remember off the top of head. if you can get hold of him over at oudhitsquad and get the recov then go right ahead, if not, i have his img file.

I'm working with someone on getting Clockwork mod running right, did Agat's build have freeze issues?

I got cwm and root and everything I did a backup but when I go to flash it, it did not not save, so I am stuck. It won't let me boot into FTM mode to do a stock recovery. Does anyone have the stock .img that they could send me please? Or tell me how I could go about getting to FTm mode so I can go back to stock?

People say use the zte update tool but I cant find it.

I've got the update tool, but you can't use the update tool unless you're in FTM mode. After I flashed CWM, FTM is no longer available. I was getting mad, I was still in my 30 days for best buy so I just said it was freezing up and I exchanged for a new one... easy fix I guess ha

Does your phone boot? If not then its probably a hard brick. But if it boots I can help you.
