Update on the Official Phandroid Application

Same as most everyone else, I'd like the option to either have just the forums OR actually turn off the news part so it isn't constantly running. The app has such wonderful potential but is so aggravating at times.
 
Serriously i feel like my phone will get updated to ice cream sandwich before the phandroid app gets what is probably a simple fix.
 
I can't use it at all now, it won't work on my subscribed threads (error) and two times out of three it errors out upon opening. I really do wish the Tapatalk connection could be reestablished, it works well for other forums I follow.

On my MOTOROLA PHOTON 4G, the news section works just fine.
However, when I attempt to use the forum section, endless buffering until I escape the app & force close it in SETTINGS>APPLICATIONS.
If I go straight to the forum section, then, it loads. But, if I choose to go to the News section & back to the forums again,the forum section will not load, necessitating another trip to the APPLICATIONS section to force close the PHANDROID APP once again................

Market version or beta from premium thread?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling, wiping data completely first?

Market or beta, uninstall, reinstall, it just doesn't work reliably. I will say I haven't tried the latest beta, I'll have to wander over there and see if it's any improvement.
 
I like this app it works great for me except for 1 really annoying issue. While usimg the app if I I hit my home key to do something else or click on a notification on the bar and come back to the app by pressing the icon on my homepage I have to start all over again at the front page and lose my place.

That's the biggest issue I have with the app and it's been there since the beginning of the year.
 
Still waiting for an update to this app. It would be nice to comment on the news section using the app sometime. I also don't need it starting at boot and running all the time if I'm not using the widgets just wasting resources.
 
if this app survives and gets fix and updated... remove widgets and make them an add on.... this app is too big.. needs a diet.
 
App needs to be fixed. The news section has stopped working for me over a month ago. It used to be were it would work fine (over last few weeks) and would require an uninstall/reinstall every few days to get it working again. Last couple of weeks have been where I have to do this once per day. Last two days have been extremely bad, whereby have do this several times per day, if not every time I use the app.

Problem is when you open the News section and it just continues to refresh. If you open an article, it just sits there refreshing and won't load the article. I haven't been able to participate in any of the contests because of this.
 
It's been 6 months or more since you guys broke the phandroid app by switching the comments service on the news section. Forgive my rant but this is PATHETIC! Either fix the news section or remove the news section. I love my android phone and I like phandroid so please fix the app or make the website more mobile friendly.

I feel your pain. Not being able to comment on the news articles with the app stinks... Guessing it has something to do with Disqus as well.....
 
at what point .. does an organization give up on a dead project (that has no leg to stand on)?

let beat this dead horse one last time.. and burn it!

and move back to tapatalk. PLEASE.

I logged on to phandroid via my phone.. And I saw a message.. This Site is accessible on Tapatalk. What????

So.. I downloaded the app that I stopped using after Androidforums dropped them... Search and... Shirt... There it is...

I am posting from Tapatalk.. Now
 
lmfao - not for me - Completely different forums from here or there.

But I also got DF, RW, Vistax64, sevenForums, and Windows8Forums.... :p

And if NICO is on there I'll be adding another one shortly.
 
Ive actually added XDA to tapatalk now. Wish I hadnt bought xda premium to be honest as it doesnt seem to give me anything more than tapatalk, except that annoying brown splash screen
