Update question

VolFan24

Lurker
Hey all i got a couple quick questions. I'm about to head back to the states from my deployment to Afghanistan. I bought the Droid X when I was on R&R back in August and was back out in Afghanistan when the 2.2 update came out. My first question: is it going to be easy for me to update my X to Froyo when i get back next month? My second question: are there any bugs or anything I should look out for that may come when I update to Froyo? (or any that I may not know about for that matter)

Thanks for the help ya'll.

First and foremost...Thank you for your service!!!

Yes, it will be easy to update...either the phone will recognize it on it's own or you can go to settings, about phone, system updates, and it will check for available updates then let you download and apply. Make sure you have good service and 3g...that will help. First, you may want to call *228 and select option 2 to update your roaming.

No real bugs, more benefits than issues. The things being talked about on this forum could be caused by any number of things people have done to their phones. Since you haven't used yours much, you are probably GTG. Besides, your phone will force the update sooner or later, so you don't have a choice unless you root and start modifying (see rooting sub-forum for more info).

Thanks again and welcome home!

There's a bug with .340 that causes random reboots, but they seem to be a bit infrequent though annoying. Don't worry about it too much, though, you'll be too stoked with FroYo.

And thanks for your service. Have a safe trip home.
