Im using 2.3 now...no Bluetooth though. Everything else work perfect, including MMS.

One problem I hear with 2.3 is that they are going to take the HOTSPOT toggle away. Not that I use it a lot but sometimes I tether my laptop or ipad to my phone. I guess there will always be PDANET.

As for Flash support, I haven't really missed it so far for a number of reasons:

No flash, and don't think it will ever happen. What reason would adobe have to support the past generation of processors, when the prudent business move is to go forward.

You can use Skyfire browser to view most flash videos, but forget games.

Our phones can view videos played on the Flash Player embeded on a website with the built in browser (YouTube for example), but it cannot view Flash based web pages (from my understanding, I think some of the other browsers allow it on some pages, but I've never thoroughly researched this).

You can view what the mobile system requirements are at the Adobe website. It's not so much of what our phone supports. It's more of what hardware the software itself supports.

Take a peek at what 2.3 offers from the official Android dev pages and see if it may be worth it to you. Personally, in 2.2.2 they removed some of the on-screen features while you're on a phone call... I *hate* that! It's almost enough for me to root and keep 2.2.1 on my phone.

When you see video on your Optimus V, even if it was originally in Flash format, it is reformated by the servers the browser is using (Skyfire, YouTube, etc). You do not see the Flash Player or video in the Flash format.

Complain to the website, eventually flash will go away to be replaced by HTML5. Hopefully flash will vanish sooner than later.

Give up the pipedream. It'd run like a slideshow on ARMv6 as even on many cortex-a8 SoCs it's choppy and I've only had good experience on Tegra 2(cortex-a9).

If you've just gotta have flash, then you're going to have to pony up for the Triumph when it comes out...

Or if you can't wait, you could always flash your phone to the new gingerbread OS like I did. Right now I'm running Android version 2.3.4. It's a heck of a lot faster than the stock Virgin Mobile software and no bloatware.

But most people want all the functions on the phone to work,and real support,not waiting for some enthusiast not being paid to fix the issues,and you can remove bloatware by just rooting.

What you are seeing on your OV is flash video converted to HTML5 this is also how the iphone and ipad are able to view youtube videos as well. HTML5 is the future.

You might want to check out skyfire it plays back about 80% of flash content. Really the only thing I couldn't get to work on it is hulu but they block all mobile so even if you had flash you couldn't watch it.

All the functions on my phone work. I know there's been issues with the camera and bluetooth, but my camera works.... unable to test bluetooth.

Flash works fine, you just can't use it in the stock browser. Try Dophin.

is dolphin any different from skyfire? i tried that and still couldn't use flash. i'm sure i'm not doing something right.

Flash doesn't run on the Optimus V regardless of the browser. There are browsers that convert it to HTML5. It doesn't convert interactive media, just video and audio. Skyfire does this.
