Help update to 2.35 and sence 3.0

im still on 2.3.3 and sence 2.1, i want to update but im still unsure because of all the problems there have been, i,ve read through all the posts about it, im just wanting to know is it ok to update now or should i expect problems, if so what are they
 
I guess making sure backing up everything you don't want to lose and then updating would be fine, before I rooted my phone updated with no problem. Besides no huge problems have been reported
 
I am not sure, as I have not had an official update on my phone in a long time - don't even know if you'd loose anything!

Your contacts should be backed up to your google mail... go to gmail on your computer and have a look at your contacts. If the numbers aren't there, then you should be able to sync your contacts.

You can download text message backup and restore from the market that would take care of your texts.

All your apps are backed up with your google account. Any paid for apps will/should start to download automatically... you may have to search/reinstall any of the free ones.
 
When I did it I believe I lost everything except my SD card contents, but I would say it would never hurt having a backup ready for whenever something happens to the phone.
