Update to Fix camera Issues?

this thread is full of qq...

its a camera on a phone, not a DSLR.

for a phone a little blurry is acceptable from time to time.

if its a constant issue then its either you and your shaky hands or the phone itsself. if you think its the phone, swap it out. if its still the phone return it. its not gunpoint.

i hope everyone has their issues resolved.

Well, here is a new problem to heap on the lot, for my orig camera app started last night.

I would load the app, then set to take the pic, not only is is unresponsive to the touch, but it acts like it is in a reset cycle. Black screen, to image, to black, to image until I home screen it.

Not sure when it actually started, I have not taken any pics since last Sunday.

I use the camera extensively, taking at times over 300 pictures a day.
I received the latest software update last week, not sure what was in that fix. The camera is working better but still has issues.

The camera is disappointing in a number of aspects. It seems to go out of its way to loose focus and takes blurry potos repeatedly. The shutter lag is horrendous. I can't tell you how many pictures of my foot, the grass or whatever I have taken. It is especially frustrating since this is how I make a living.

File is another issue when it comes to sending emails as I do throughour the day.

There are no adjustments for the shutter or file sizes or much anything else on the device... as in previous Droids. I believe this to be very short sighted on Moto's part.

Does anyone know of a fix for these issues? I am not interested in an overly complicated photography application. I just want a point and shoot camera akin to the Droid X2 that takes the picture quickly, cleanly and efficiently.

I use Camera FX, and it seems to work better than the standard Camera App. It also gives you many options for resolution, and therefor file size.

I don't know what update means here. You need to be running 5.5.893 to get some relief from the camera issues.

There are a number of apps in Android Market that can be used in place of Camera ... like CameraZoom FX, ProCapture Vignette.

It is not obvious (perhaps) but the Scenes menu in the Camera options give you a lot of control. As an example ... set Scenes to Landscape and the lens is focused on Infinity.

I suggest you experiment with it ... no I have not found a user's manual.

Of course you are running it in 8MB instead of the default 6MB. 6MB gives the worst shutter lag.

I use the multi-capture feature when I want to take a QUALITY picture, not just a quick picture. I find, as well, that the issue is... because there isn't a button you can half hold down - like on the Droid X - you can't REALLY get the auto-focus fully focused before taking the picture. The picture snaps TOO QUICKLY. Using the multi-capture feature will get you that clear shot. I just wish you could adjust it from 6 pictures, to say 2 or 3.

Any word on a camera fix?
