Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

reflashing it didn't work so did a hard reset and its working fine now but does this mean that fastboot isn't there anymore?

Followed the instructions for restoring the Boot logo, it says plug the USB when it gets to Android boot logo. my phone is at the LG logo for the past 10 minutes. can i run in to download mode and flash it with a Europe open+fastboot like that?

Ok. Got it working now I have something else to ask. Where is Android Market app?

edit, i added the gapp fix and everything came but the market

But I already Flashed it with fastboot. I used the Recovery to install the google app fix.

Edit: I did that same thing once again. Flashed with that autoupdater of yours to a fresh v1.8 copy. There was nothing on. Installed the gApps using the Recovery and all the apps showed up but the "Android Market" app. When I go to manage applications under the "ALL" tab, I can see it there, just can't acces it.

Please, oh please. I don't wanna go back to CM6 :(

Okay, I found on XDA that I need the latest gApps. Downloaded 2011/03/07 and it works fine for now. Had some trouble on the first run (didn't want to open the search bar) but that fixed it self. I llove the fact that CM7 doesn't lagg when an app is about to be installed unlike CM6. Really amazing. Couldn't find any bugs on this ROM and I hope I never will ^^

Thanks a lot!

It doesn't reboot randomly..? Have you overclocked the phone too high? Did you install the Gapps fix through recovery?

what i meant to say was it reboots randomly hehe what is the problem with that??...also, i followed your instruction before on installing the gapps and it worked except for the market coz it isnt there...

dudeman, i tried a lot of gapps but not one of them showed the market need your help! i really need market please

thank you for your reply! I have 2.3 set up nicely and everything is running fine other than email. I get to the checking incoming server settings screen but it says:
Set up could not finish
Unable to open connection to serber.
I had wifi connection and it worked and i had been able to use it before installing 2.3 (if it helps i installed 2.2 first then 2.3)
I don't understand why this is happening as my account allows it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have a strong Wi-Fi signal? Try using mobile data instead. What email account are you setting up?

Hi Dudeman,
I was just wondering, I have noticed that you have a GT540 which has Gingerbread, but is not overclocked. Is there a reason for this. I was just wondering if you didn't think overclocking made any real difference in the real world.

Hi Dudeman,

Well, I only tend to overclock when I'm running games, or apps that need a bit more power, otherwise having it overclocked all the time tends to make my battery die quicker, but then again my battery is a bit old, so it's lost it's overall capacity. Lots of people say that having it at max 804 is a good one for performance and battery life.

Actually now that I remember, I use Tasker to automate my overclocking. I can set it to overclock to a specific frequency with certain apps, and put it back to 600MHz when it doesn't need the extra power. It's also set so when my battery gets to 35%, things turn off to save battery. e.g. 3G to 2G, Auto sync off, clock to 600MHz etc.

I'd definitely recommend getting Tasker, the price has gone up from what I remember, but it's unbelievable value for it's money. The app can literally do anything you want, at a certain time or something happens. E.g. you can switch the signal to 2G only when Wi-Fi is connected, and back to 3G when it disconnects. And so much more. Check out a list here (it can do much more than this, just Google something): Profiles - Tasker Wiki

Hope this helps! :D :)

My wifi signal is fine i can connect to my email via browser...
Ive tried pop3, imap and exchange.

Is there anything i can that doesn't include wiping it/reinstalling cm7

Hmm, maybe it's a bug in the stock email client, try one from the Market if you really want an app to check for emails :)

I tried K-9 Email client with no luck. I don't think its the hardware as it worked before CM7. The thing is it doesnt work. I think it could be adfree blocking it? Hmm... I think it may be an app blocking internet access for it.

I uninstalled adfree and looked through my apps with root access and i don't think its any of them. In case your wondering they are: BloatFreezer (un-need due to titanium backup), Link2SD, RootExplorer, SetCPU, Titanium Backup
