All,

MMS is a function I need, so i'll have to wait for this to work :(

From what I've researched on random reboots, it seems like apps or an unstable CPU overclock are generally what cause them. I'm not using the ROM from this thread, but is there a "reboot into safe mode" option for this ROM? Hold the power button to bring up the power menu, then navigate to the reboot options, touch and hold the reboot phone option, then there should be a message box that shows up asking if you want to reboot into safe mode. After the phone is rebooted into safe mode only the processes needed by Android will be running, this will help narrow it down if your phone is rebooting from an app or something deeper like an unstable CPU overclock.

As for your phone getting hot, that is most likely from the CPU running at a higher frequency. My htc Hero S (same as Evo Design 4g) will get very warm on the aluminum piece on the back of the phone if the CPU is running at anything over 1.4Ghz. I'd suggest checking into your CPU settings with the processor options in the "CodefireX" options or use an app like system tuner, CPU tuner or any other CPU frequency controlling app to check what frequnecy the CPU is running at. It may be up to 2Ghz, I'd suggest setting it at a frequency no higher than 1.4Ghz. If you're not using a kingdom device, set the CPU at the stock frequency, that way you can rule out the possibility of instability from an overclock.
Then just run your phone like this for a day or so and see if you have any reboots.

As for your other two issues, I don't have any ideas as to how they could be fixed, but who knows, maybe changing the CPU settings will solve it.

Hope this helps with your rebooting issue. :)

For a workaround you can manually input the MMS settings in either chomp SMS or Gosms and it will work fine... if you need help PM me

First you will need an app that lets you change MMS settings such as chompsms (my preference) or gosms. Both will work.

This is for chomp, but the instructions will be the same for Go, however you will find the MMS settings for go in a slightly different place.

Settings - Mobile Carrier Network - MMS Network Settings - APN Settings

MMSC:

Sprint = http://mms.sprintpcs.com
Boost = http://mm.myboostmobile.com
US Cell = http://mmsc1.uscc.net/mmsc/MMS

MMS Proxy (Leave Blank for all 3)

MMS Port :

Sprint =(Leave Blank)
Boost = 80
US Cell = 80

Restart the app and test MMS

ok.. i'm trying chomp, without much luck..... and i've used gosms in this fashion before...

but -

i keep getting "cannot connect to Camera" when trying to utilize it via SMS or Instagram, etc...

Camera is still not working or was there a workaround for that?

I use go sms pro and the settings I use are above but I add 68.28.31.7 and it works fine.

For now no camera

All in all, I liked it. I'll run beta when I can, I like flashing xD but I can live without the cam and stuff. But... The torch toggle is what got me. I use it regularly and was teased by this... Also, voice dialer didn't work. I'm still learning and have A LOT to learn, so I can't help much... Also, confirmed random reboots and the overheating today (even after underclock) made me have to go back to my custom stock.

This ROM is amazing.

The only problem I'm having is the signal strength.. I've had one bar with this ROM. Is this because my carrier is U.S Cellular, instead of Sprint?

This worked great for the first week or two. Then it started randomly rebooting maybe once every few days. Within a week, I couldn't use the phone for more than 5 minutes without it rebooting on me. It frustrated me so much that I just went back to Sense. If this was fixed, I would have gladly kept using the ROM. In my area, I don't really use my actual data, because I always have wifi, and when I do, in this area, there's little to no Sprint 4G coverage anyway. So, anyway, if this was fixed I would have kept the ROM. I loved that someone finally ported Jellybean over to the Design.

I have sprint in the US and my mobile network won't work. I flashed and formatted everything clean then installed rom. Rom works great with no issues except no camera and then when I got off wifi it would not give me mobile network. There is no menu to update PRL or to do data activation like sprint says. I rebooted many times to try then I tried the ##3282# or all those other ## things sprint says and it dials the number and said not a recognized command. WHen i tried to dial customer support it gave me verizon. So I have no data network and no way to update it or get into my data menu to get it.

When I flash back over to stock rooted rom my phone does the activation on sprint right away with no issues at all. I had this problem with Senseless kingdom and Forever kingdom as well. It seems like none of these roms have the prl update or data activation buttons in the settings menu like the stock rom does.

I tried the PAC rom from the same website I downloaded this from and same results: great rom, no data unless on wifi with no way of updating or activating the data network.

The rom is amazing and I would love to use it but need data.

Thanks for the info jssa28
