I did an update to Android 2.3.3 and my battery life has gone to absolute POT. I have an extended battery and I have used 100% of it in 4 hours this morning.
Can I send this back to the previous android version?

I suggest you give it a few days and a few charge cycles before dismissing battery life as horrible on GB......many have found that battery life improves by doing the aforementioned.
Thank you, the battery drain has been drastic. I will follow up later in the week.

My experience with this is not the same. It still sucks a month later!
I really believe the battery drain is the cause of a few things: if you recall with Eclair (if you were an early adopter and bought the X at release) the screen chewed through the battery very quickly. With Froyo, Moto somehow managed to control the amount of juice used much better. With Gingerbread, I feel the massive drain by the screen is back, in conjunction with some apps not optimized to work nicely with GB...which ones are a mystery, but I have found Lookout, WidgetLocker, Google's Music Beta, NoLock and MLB AtBat to be somewhat guilty in this area. I still love those apps, but I am now very cautious when using them. Good luck to you.
To those with bad battery life.
Do a factory reset and then report back.
No change. (I did the reset, which I hated, and a cache wipe several times which helped a tiny bit.)Really???? I tried a factory reset long ago and have tried twice since that's the only suggestion anyone seems to have.
It still sucks
