So I went and exchange my phone for a new one and its saying there are no updates?? My first one updated no problem so idk. What should I look for to make sure its all up to date? Or should I not worry about it since im going to root soon.

I would not worry since you are going to root. Use the devs work to your advantage, and you won't find bugs like ota's have. Just make sure you let the devs know you appreciate them ;)

Select Menu and then Settings for the phone and at the bottom is the About area. It should tell you if you are on the 09 update already or not. =)

The DL09 has been officially pulled since there were bugs in it. All the files you need however are available to use. This literally takes just a few minutes

Technically there is no need to root to go to dl09 ...you can just push the dl09 all in one odin. File....just requires you to have the sanding drivers installed, odin, and the file

I mean you might want to root anyway...but for those that don't want to....this is an option

Im guessing no since I have no idea what files you are talking about. Lol Can u point be in the direction of where I should start :)

Hey there! I read many many posts last night and as Saps mentioned it seems the 09 update had some bugs so looks like our new phones aren't going to get the update which explains why Samsung wouldn't push the update to me. (I have their 800 droid hotline # if anyone needs it) Soooo .... with Saps help I rooted last night .... it's so easy that I almost feel like to didn't do it right lol. Now I just need to explore which ROM fits my style/needs.

I'm slightly ADD so if I can read up, understand and root in under an hour then you should be able to get it in 10 minutes ;)

oh hey Khaag ... one thing you may wanna do before you root. Write down the names of the stock apps because many of them are deleted. Some of them I used like City ID but now I can't remember which stocks apps I had. In fact if ya want would you mind PMing me the stock app names before you root?
