Root Updates

I tinkered with my X when I first got it, rooted it etc. But then after it did what I wanted it to, I didn't mess with it anymore. But it's been several months and am wondering if there are any important updates I'm missing out on. I can't get any updates either it seems because I'm rooted. I'm currently running 2.2 (system version 2.3.9).

How do I update to the newest version? And what the heck is the newest version nowadays?

Yeah, bro. Just flash the Maderstock340.zip and you'll be current. There are a lot of nice roms for the new update, if you want. :) Good Luck!
