Don't ota if you are rooted!!!!! Just flash a rom that's based off of the latest ota.
My friend used Unrevoked 3.21 to root his evo and he asked me if he is able to update via OTA like you would normally. I haven't used Unrevoked and wasn't able to find the answer in my searches. Does anyone know the answer to this?
The phone is already rooted,he is just wondering if by applying the new OTA he will loose his root priveliges.

This. From what I have read running the ota may cause issues....and does kill root and reroot would be required. Just about all of the current roms have the ota incorporated

Just tell ur friend to flash a ROM based on the new OTA and thats it.Why people like to brake their heads when the answer lies in front of their eyes.
I've told him several times, he's not interested in running a different rom...go figure, thats half the fun of rooting the phone is messing with it afterwards! xD He is worried about losing all his programs and having to reinstall all them, losing his data for the games he plays and so on. He doesn't want to have to re-do them all again. I'm pretty sure Titanim Backup will take care of all that. Not to mention doesn't google backup your apps you have installed besides the ones you paid for? I know when I reinstall roms over and over again google installed ALL my apps even the free ones when I synced with it.
Anyways I'll just tell him to flash a OTA rom and there is no way to recieve updates like normal anymore.
