Updating CM

Just follow the directions where you read about it.... currently RootzWiki is the source of all TP goodness. :D

(You could update via recovery OR with the Acme installer, but they still recommend using Acme for now.)

When a Rom Manager update comes out that supports the TP, you should be able to download a nightly build from there, but that's down the road a bit. That's when it gets cool... RM gives a review of your nightly builds. If you choose to install one, you download it, check the box to backup your current rom, choose gApps if it's been a while since you updated, then it'll do all the work for you.... one reason I purchased it. :D

BTW, I see 6 fixed bugs and 4 patches in testing. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a download in the next week. :D

To be fair, at least two of those were fixed by the SOD fix.

So i can download it directly from Rom Manager and then use clockwork recovery to install it? Sorry for the questions, first time I am diving into this.

I'm anti ROM Manager and think it should be avoided like the plague. From my experience I have seen it cause nothing but problems.

No, you will be able to eventually. Until an update comes out supporting our TP, RM is worthless. Rom Toolbox (free) will let you manage (delete, rename) your backups for now tho. Like renaming backups with RM, you just have to be careful not to use illegal filename characters (like spaces) or your backups will fail to restore.

I'm pro Rom Manager. Bought it a long time ago. (Do we have a tie-breaker? :D) It's an easy way of installing a nightly build, when we get to that. Most builds of CM7 come with RM and don't have a power menu item to boot into recovery so it's the only way to get there. The only place I've seen problems with it is on the DroidX, which has other apps that install recovery. RM is a shell for CW recovery and just creates a script to automate it, saving your volume buttons.

Eventually TWRP will also be an option to work with recovery via a touchscreen.
