Hi,

I am currently on gingervillain 1.0 and i'm trying to update to 1.2. I've downloaded the update using villain setup but when I try to install it I get a message "To install you need to download a recovery image" I select the option to download and it comes back straight away saying error downloading recovery image. Anyone got any advice on where to go from here? I assume I could download the full package and install from the boot menu but that will wipe everything on my phone won't it?

Thanks,

Chris

download it and use your normal recovery
you are trying to install it from villain set up thats why, it downloads its own custom one

go to defrostsetup folder in your normal recovery and flash it from there

No, this is a ROM .zip, not an RUU. It won't wipe the phone.

Typical really - 1.2 comes out just when my battery is low. Have to wait until tomorrow to flash it...

Finished flashing and setting up and all seems to work well.

Just Hope Hoolam Circles (Spell?) comes out soon, really dislike the stock GV Battery & Signal Icons.

Nice! An update. Let's see what's new.

Changelog:

Version 1.2:
Update proprietary libs (improved video & fixed audio call delay)
Update to latest CM7 commits

had problem with mobile data enabled automatically after wifi switchoff.. back to 1.1

edit: not 3g in particular, but mobile data

So, the choice is between the Audio delay (v1.1) and Call echo (v1.2)? :D
I must say, I don't experience any audio delay with v1.1.

The delay is for the first couple of seconds of a call (i.e the time when you say hello), the other end cannot hear you. I didnt notice it for ages but all GB builds had this until very recently.

You only notice once you know about it and realise everytime you say hello more than once, the problem has occured :)

And circle mod all the same day :-)

Or if like me, you dont like flashing themes, finally... BATTERY PERCENTAGE available via cm>interface>Statusbar tweaks.

Just need custom colours and I have everything that was missing from DF.

Well the notification power control indicator colour selector is working now (didn't do anything in the last release I tried it in).

Trouble is I don't like the "numbers with mini battery next to them" style of battery percentage, so I'm back to flashing themes anyway :(
