Upgrade Time!

Why wait, call them up now and they won't ship it until Tuesday anyways, this phone is worth every Penny IMO

It is kind of a busy holiday weekend for me. I do not have patience to call multiple times to get them to upgrade both lines and give me the customer loyalty credit at the moment.

I know I am probably going to have to get escalated to retentions and have a manager override something to get what I want. It is best to do it when I have the time to do it, like this coming Tuesday. Not to mention, after I call and get the upgrade back for both lines, I will have to confirm that they actually went through, and then call back AGAIN to order the handsets. Good times.

Sounds like your going to have fun on Tuesday, it will be worth it, love this phone.

I have never actually ordered handsets over the phone before. Do I just call them up and order them and they charge my credit card?

I suppose they send them to my house and then I have to call Sprint to activate them? I wonder if they will waive the activation fee.

Fastest way is *2 and simply order, you can either pay on a credit card or they will add it to your bill. Once you received them you can either go online and activate it yourself or simply call them and it takes 5 minutes to activate

Thanks for the information, DonB. So, were you able to get the activation feed waived on your Sprint HTC EVO 3D?

If you did, was it something you asked for or did they just waive it automatically? I guess I will be calling Sprint a few times tomorrow. :)

Yes they waived it because I called to order, I did not have to ask, she mentioned it to me, if they don't mention it tell them you want it waived

I saw that there is an overheating and charging issue with some Sprint HTC EVO 3D handsets and HTC knows about it. I hope that this is something that can be fixed with an OTA update. I do not want to switch over to an unreliable handset after having such great reliability and battery life from my Sprint HTC Hero. That would be a darned shame.

I read about it here: HTC Evo 3D Suffering From Overheating Problems? . I also read the thread they mentioned here: http://androidforums.com/htc-evo-3d...ease-read-htc-evo-3d-voltage-heat-issues.html .

I have not had any issues, it is a little hot, but no different than the Hero, and i am also using a case, so I would not worry about it bro.

No, I am not worried about it. What case are you using?

I figured I would just let people know about it. Knowledge is power.

I got mine from eBay and it is simple and I love it and it was $6.49, here is a link to the one I bought. Click >>>>HERE

Unfortunately, that eBay listing was removed, DonB. Do you happen to have another example of your case? I will probably want to pick one up before I purchase the handset. I like being prepared.

I played around with a Sprint HTC EVO 3D at a Sprint store today. I had a good twenty minutes to mess with it. It is a nice handset and really smooth in the UI department. The only thing that sort of bothered me about it was that the power button seemed super sensitive to being pressed and it was a bit mushy as well.

LBP - Spend the extra Money and get the Otter Box Commuter.
Nice and sturdy - NO over heat issues this far.
The Sensitive power button issues go away with a case.

My Phone took a 5 foot dive onto concrete over the 4th....crazy 3 yr olds....
And it is FINE!

Well I was going to keep my HERO as a MP3 player and use if with WiFi, but someone offered me $100 for it today, so I think I will sell it, so I wanted to mention to RB, that this time I formatted the SD card and flashed the RUU from recovery and it worked like a charm this time, so good call and took 3 minutes. The guy interested is waiting on my decision tomorrow as I wanted to sleep on it incase I went into HERO withdrawals, lol :D;)

FYI Cat the reason why I got the case was because I wanted something quick as the OBox was not out yet, I may get the Ballistic case next thought, but I will compare to the OBox first to see, I do like this one I got as it is sleek and not bulky, so I need to make a decision of what I want, protection or looks, LOL

Aww. Farewell to your Sprint HTC Hero, DonB. :(

Thanks for the recommendations on cases for the Sprint HTC EVO 3D. I was looking at the Otterbox and Seidio cases. I figured a case would make it tougher for the buttons to get accidentally pressed. The fact that it was so sensitive just stuck in my mind after my visit to the Sprint store today. ;)

The Ballistic Box is sweet looking also

It looks like the case that Tony Stark would be using on his handset while in his Iron Man suit. Haha. :D

Some of these cases are pretty pricey. But, I assume the protection and functionality they afford is worth the extra funds. ;)

Exactly as mentioned, it is a decision between protection or looks.

^^^ Did you order your phone yet

Unfortunately, no, I have not. Things have been extremely busy this week which you can image is due to playing catch up from the holiday we just had. ;)

I will probably get to it this weekend though. I am definitely looking forward to an upgrade. :)

Hero is sold, I was going to keep it but I got a call today and the girl begged me for it, so for $100 I couldn't say no, LOL
