Help upgraded and now my texts aren't coming thru.

Hi, 2 days ago I allowed the update my phone said was available. I have a Motorola Razr M. Now I am having texting issues.

The text icon will show a number of new messages, but when I go to my texts, there is nothing new. My friends have confirmed they have sent messages that I have not gotten. Anyone know what is going on or how to fix this? Can I downgrade the update? This is a great phone and I have had no problems with it til now.

I'm going to assume you are on Verizon and using the stock messaging app?

For what it's worth I switched back to the stock app yesterday and kept getting a 'message not sent' error on it. I then went back to Verizon's app and the errors stopped. It's possible, for whatever reason, the stock app is messed up. Try the app in the link, it's really very nice and works well.

Sometimes, as a last resort, a factory reset is needed after updates. I'd try other apps first though. Oh, also check settings and make sure it's not set to receive over wifi only or something else silly.

Edit: another thought...did you restart your phone? That sometimes cures a lot of ills.
 
Thanks for taking the time to answer me. Yes, i have restarted my phone a few times. It will take care of the notification number but not load the texts.

Sorry, I am on verizon and have the standard came with the phone texting app.
 
Thank you for moving my thread. I didn't see the Razr M forum. Will clearing my cache do anything else to my apps or delete messages?
 
It just clears out the cache data, otherwise it does nothing else nor delete your messages.

If you cleared data, that's when your messages would be deleted.
 
Thank you! I cleared the cache and so we'll see if this works. It sounds like this kitkat update is giving lots of people issues. I really hope this works.
