Just Curious will all the issues with the last GS ( ive had my fair share) is anyone coming from the last generation willing to give Samsung another go with the G-nex, is it specfically due to ICS?

Im willing to give Samsung another go and yes ICS was a big facter for me after getting and still stuck on Froyo

I've had a Fascinate for a little while now and I've been pleased with it. The hardware is great. Touchwiz stinks but I'm running CM7.

I am done with Samsung. The last 4 devices ( 3-smartphones and 1-Blu-ray player ) have been junk. All 4 were terrible for updates and all made from cheap crappy plastic. Never again.

That's too bad, all my Samsung products have been great, including TV and Blu-Ray player. This phone will be updated by Google, not Samsung.

Too bad. I had good experience samsung feature phone and fascinate. Also SGS2 makes us forget about all previous sammy phones in good way and I'm sure SGN will do so.

Except these updates are handled through google not samsung.

Yep, that it is. Doesn't change how I feel about Samsung. After 4 lemons in a row I will not -be purchasing another Samsung product. Actually I still might have considered Samsung products in the future if they even had any type of decent customer service. Bad CS plus crap product= I give up.

Then why are you on a samsung forum? lmao If you don't want the phone nobody is making you get it, there are plenty of other phones.

I do have a Samsung TV that has been very good, of course they don't really need updates to stay functional. I purchased Samsung blu- ray player and less than a year later I couldn't play half the discs coming out because it was already abandoned by Samsung and was not provided any more updates. The Samsung Fascinate is still on Froyo with not a hint of it ever getting Gingerbread, heck it took way too long to get Froyo not to mention the GPS and radio issues. That's just two problem products, I could keep going for a good while. I think I have given them enough chances, they won't get anymore of my money. Motorola products have been great but that whole bootloader thing is hard for me to forget (though I may get a Razr for work as my work phones stay stock). That leaves HTC and LG I guess. Lets hope the Rezound turns out to be a good product.

Because the op asked if anyone coming from a prior problem Samsung device was considering the Galaxy Nexus. Since my experience was similar to his my response was appropriate to the question asked.

I have the Samsung Fascinate and I love it. It is the best phone I ever have. It works great with no issue at all. I absolutely will buy another Samsung smart phone. In my humble opinion, Samsung is the only Android vendor (although HTC is learning it now) that truly understand the majority of consumers out there want their phones to be elegant.
