Root Urgent Help Needed!

Lurker
I am a complete noob at this stuff. So please bear with me.
I successfully rooted my LG Optimus V using this guide ---->http://forums.androidcentral.com/optimus-v-rooting-roms-hacks/57485-how-root-lg-optimus-v.html I might have used the wrong method which might address my issues I'm having, but I'm not sure.
So after I rooted my phone, I installed ROM manager and Clockworkmod. But I had a problem, each time I would go into the recovery menu I wouldn't be able to choose an option. I would click every single button on my phone and it wouldn't do anything, it would just take me to a black page with the hat logo on it.

I saw this thread, and I decided I wanted to install this ROM --->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332644
So I went on my PC, went to my SD card and copied the ROM I had downloaded into my main directory of my SD card. I went back onto my phone and went onto ROM managaer. from there, I chose the option "Installl ROM from SD Card' or something like that. So I chose the package I had copied onto my SD card, the phone rebooted to recovery mode and it automatically began backing up my old ROM and installed the new one (ICS).

After the setup finished, the phone rebooted and I now had ICS. But Im now having a really bad problem. The android market doesnt work, it says I have to add an account, and when I choose yes, it closes.

Im trying to go back to my old ROM but as I mentioned, I cant. The Clockworkmod doesnt let me pick an option.

What can I do? Please help me.

You should be able to navigate through the menu using the voice dialer button on the right side of the phone. also if you type in market.apk into google you can download android market, maybe that'll let you sign in.

And yet another reason not to use Rom Manager. Please do your research before doing any rooting or flashing. Please read the sticky at the top of this forum " The Truth About Rom Manager".

Yea, the biggest mistake was not following guides from this forum. Now I know to stick to this site. :D

The "All Things Root Guide" sticky has ALL the information you need. If you see that it missing something that is necessary PM me and I'll make the needed changes.

The ICS ROM will need the gapps. I would read through the sticky, then go back and wipe and format everything required (this time include the gapps).

There are several gapps for ICS, but some are more complete than others. You will have good results with the noface version.
