USB/HDMI Port Cover

Hey guys. Has anyone torn their USB/HDMI port cover? I haven't torn mine, but I am curious how much stress it can take before it breaks.
 
I have the metro hard shell/soft rubber hybrid case and it was such a pain in the butt to open the USB cover to plug in to that I did tear the USB cover off. It was tough to get it out(had go use a pair of needle nose pliers) whatever materials were used, they were definitely the right ones to use because I had to quite a bit of force
 
I ripped the usb cover off the day i got, I hate covers over those ports, I don't see what phone makers are thinking when they do that.

Guessing it's just too keep dirt and stuff out.. I gotta hybrid case though and it's a pain in the arse sometimes.. know I've had issues with stuff getting in the head phone jacks in the past..
 
lol I put one back on the Esteem you all got me ;)

I dont like the lil doors n prefer the design to make the port(s) to be open n flow with the design. Unfortunely the esteem looks like its missing sumtin w/o the lil door.

I dont use a case, the Esteem is fat enough already lol
 
Mine broke off after having it about 8 months or so-the peg is still in the phone where it busted off of the door:(

How did you put it back on? I would like to take mine off for a while for it to not interfere.
