Help USB storage......help

Im confused,i get it about which storage is which.....

phone
usb storage
ex sd card

i just tried to put some photos and some downloaded wallpapers into USB storage folder using ES file explorer,they moved ok but when i go to my gallery,the pics are not there??

What exactly CAN i put in the folder named USB storage
it just shows as an empty folder but when i check storage in settings it says 11.50gb total space,9.19 available

any ideas why the pictures didnt show up?????

The GS2's internal storage is /sdcard. The external storage (if installed) is /sdcard/external_sd i.e. a subfolder of /sdcard named external_sd.

I believe USB Storage is a mount point for an external drive connected via USB OnTheGo rather than a volume on the handset.
