Help USB Tethering not working in 4G/3G after update

Somehow I got USB working on my 2.2 EVO today (Please note that I am paying for the $30 hotspot).

I connected my phone to my computer using HTC Sync, then my phone to displayed a message about USB debugging, at which point a notification came up saying that there was a USB debugging option or something like that. At that point I clicked on the notification and it took me to a screen that had an option for USB debugging and disabled it.

After USB debugging was disabled, I was and am able to use USB tethering! Problem is I searched everywhere in my phone and I can't seem to find where the USB debugging option is. Anyone know?
 
I got easytether working. Had some problems and had to turn off my phone and turn back on a couple of times after the Official Froyo update. Also, re-installed the easytether on the PC/Laptop. Was then able to connect and use it without any problems except for slow 3g connection. Was slow on the phone also so I called sprint and they walked me through doing a reset on the phone. Everything works great now.
 
For me, after i updated to froyo, my usb tethering with EasyTether is dramatically ssllllooow!!! Just browsing the internet is okay but trying to download torrents is a waste of time. Now, before the update, everything was beautiful, Browsing was really fast and I used to download 7 gig torrents while I was sleeping at night. WHAT THE **** HAPPENED?!!!!

I hope HTC or Sprint can fix this for us, at least for usb tethering. But then again, they want us to pay for that shit!

Lets e-mail the hell out of those asses! (thats the least we can do), . . . . right?

Verizon adjusted their ETF to over $300 (I think it's about $350 per phone)
AT&T - 1 month later AT&T adjusted theirs from $175 to $325.
about 1 month later:
AT&T put a 5GB cap on Data.
1 month later, there was a rumor that Verizon was going to do the same.
Why isn't the FCC investigating Price Fixing? Just wondering.......

Because 1 month before this started happening...certain members of the FCC got a nice, tax free, under the table bonus.


Also, Easytether has been working...slowly <2meg 3g&4g.

$30/month is WAY to expensive...it seems data nazis are coming down on us with all of this excessive costs for things we used to get FREE.

Is there a way to revert to 2.1??

Ok I've been a lurker and have decided to speak. my USB tethering works on my evo 4. You just have to make sure debugging is off. Of course I do have the hotspot plan as well, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

On the other hand, when I do use my tethering, I keep getting a "Requested a VPN tunnel" which shuts it off and i have to do a "repair" this is on my work computer but for the life of me I can't figure out how to make it STOP looking for the bloody VPN connection :) any suggestions?
