Root USB Transfer Speed

Using USB I have noticed AOSP ROMs to have about 1/3 the transfer speed from Computer to Phone when compared to the stock HTC 2.2 ROM. Example, I get 2.5 to 3.0MB/s when copying a file using Sense 2.2 and about 900KB/s when using GV, Oxygen, DevNull, etc. Also tried different computers as well, same results.

Just curious to see if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

What kernel are you running? I find the .35 kernels give me 2MB/s on AOSP roms. The .37 kernels are notorious for slow USB transfer.

Stock HTC 2.2 is kernel 2.6.32.5 and whatever kernel comes with the given AOSP, I generally don't change it.

Whatever AOSP rom you are on, look in settings>about phone for the kernel version. if its a .37, flash something thats a .35 and give that a go
