Root User data not backed up with clockwork recovery

I have been running skyraider3.5 for almost a month now and am very happy with it. that said the other night i got a little craving for some strange. i proceeded to do a backup in ClockworkMod 2.5.0.5 recovery. (recovery>backup and restore> backup)

i sampled a few other roms, but ultimately wanted to restore to my skyraider backup. boot into recovery, (recovery>backup and restore> restore>*select the correct date*)

when it finally comes to boot, i find that it is not at all the way i left it. why in fact it is the way it looked when i first installed it. none of my user data was saved. the only non-preloaded apps were a few that were installed to the SD card.

what did i do wrong?

skyraider 3.5
hboot 0.92.0000
radio 2.15.00.07.28
S-0ff
Clockwork recovery 2.5.0.5

I am now religiously backing up with Titanium but i was under the impression the Nandroid would do a complete backup similar to how sprite backup worked on my old WinMo phone. Am i wrong? where was my mistake?

You are not wrong. It should have been a carbon copy of what you had at the time you made the nandroid. Same Rom, same apps, same data within those apps, the works. First try running the restore again making sure its the right date. If it is the correct date and it still fails to restore properly, something went south during the backup and you suffered a bad luck deal.

As you already said, make sure you always have a current titanium backup ideally using the auto-scheduling feature of paid titanium. Then you're all set for apps and app data and if this ever happened again, the worst case is having to set up the system related settings of the Rom and that's it. Basically a 15 to 20 minute time commitment.

That's what i thought. I did redo the restore. Same result. So must have been an error during backup. Already got the ti pro. scheduled backups twice a week. I'm not losing my wordfeud account. they really need to add a log in to fresh installs as opposed to just create account.
