Root Using Netarchy kernel on Fresh 3.2... Insane battery drain...

Some interesting research:

My android system seems to take an unusually large amount of battery. Comparing to Fresh's screenshots he seems to have a significantly smaller % from his android system.

Breakdowns in 5 hrs.

Cell Standby: 37% time without signal: 9%
Phone idle: 24%
Android systtem 21%

Does this seem normal? Something run amok?

Please define HEAVY vs MODERATE use...

A heavy user is someone that actively uses the phone.
For me that is:
- 5 hrs of gaming
- 2 hrs surfing web (forums, youtube, facebook)
- 2 hrs working with emails
- 2 hrs phone calls and text messages

Yep, bought the extended battery also lol. I use my phone with pocket cloud and with the RDP over 3g just sucks the life outta the battery also. I just hope that the back case on the extended battery will fit in my seidio holster.... i may have to dremmel....

Nope do not have the extended battery; I basically use setcpu to work in my advantage!

*** UPDATE ***
Just Flashed Fresh 3.4 and I am about to test the battery life.
Also I was thinking about trying a different kernel (king #11)

Wow, that's nearly half of a 24 hour day spent with your face to the phone! So you really spend more time playing with your phone than you do sleeping or anything else?

I love my EVO, but I love eating, sleeping and my wife more (not necessarily in that order).

Now that's funny! My wife did accuse me of having an affair with my phone the other day. That's when I decided it was time to put it down. :)

Wow, correct nearly half a day... I am glad you are able to work with math.

As far a assuming; and you know what they say about assuming!

I have a newborn and he sleeps and eats alot, so if you work your math again that means I am a wake alot. Hence, once again not a lot to do at 2:00 am in the morning when you have to goto work at 5:00am and work till 6:00pm.

Once again think before you speak/write!

Easy, big fella...take it down just a notch. No use getting yourself all worked up, save that energy for your newborn.

Maybe the lack of sleep due to the newborn has you seeing insults where there are none, so rather than getting insulted myself I'll just chalk it up to that. Enjoy your new baby and your EVO. Having experienced both I can say they both provide hours of fun for everyone! ;)

I know what you mean! My wife just rolls her eyes when she walk in a room and sees me getting quality time in with my EVO Longoria...

Ahh your right, sorry for being rude; I should know better!

Daughter loves the angry birds. But still don't understand how you can get 5 hrs of gaming in and still have a few hrs left over for working on other things. Even with underclocking. At 20-30%/hr drain gaming I don't see how I can play even Angry Birds long enough.

Now if there is charging in between, yea. :)

I still can't explain it. I have changed my setting so many times. Now using an extended battery.

overnight with wifi on...set phone down at 46% woke up AFTER an hour of alarms lol to 43%

drain seems to be a consistent 10% per hour during heavy internet usage with 100% screen on

angry birds doesn't start dropping the battery much at all until the phone starts to get hot (so after about the first hour)

the one consistent drain...network coverage. it is horrible here at work...and battery drop increases by at least 15% per hour while using my phon in the store.

*** UPDATE ***
Ok I am using Fresh 3.4 and still toastmod 4.1.9.1 cfs
and a few other tweaks...

Right now this is my first test: w/ 4G on
(9hrs, 33m, 27s since unplugged with about 2% left in the battery)
Android System = 36%
Cell Standby = 29%
Phone Idle= 22%
Display = 11%
Voice Calls = 2%

I am thinking about trying King #11 and see how that kernel works with Fresh 3.4
