Root Using the UOT Kitchen

Does anyone have a good handle on using the UOT Kitchen?

It has been easy enough for me to figure out how I create my mods, since it's pretty self explanatory, although some of the mods are easier to customize than others.

But when it comes time for uploading system files, I'm a bit confused. On Sense roms, I understand that you need to upload the framework-res.apk and the SystemUI.apk as well as the com.htc.resources or whatever the third file is. But on AOSP gingerbread (ie CM7) I uploaded the SystemUI.apk and the frameworkres.apk file and I get an error when I try to flash. I have been able to apply Sense themes without any trouble.

I also see that there is an option for the theme chooser file for a CM7 style ROM. Am I limited to having a theme chooser file on CM7 or can you just upload frameworkres.apk and SystemUI.apk and do it that way? Theme chooser obviously has its limitations on what it can theme (lockscreen etc) so I would like to do something more in-depth than a theme chooser theme.

I've used it only with sense ROMS, but from the OUT kitchens website:

3. Go to the file upload section and upload the required files, or choose the ROM you use from the kitchen's list (most roms in the list are for HTC Desire)
Gingerbread rom: framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
Cyanogenmod7 rom: Cyanbread.apk or Androidian.apk or any theme for ThemeChooser (rename as you like it to apear in theme menu)
NOTE 1: if you’re uploading theme apk then do not upload any other files; you’re just wasting traffic, because the kitchen will ignore additional files
NOTE 2: Font packs and boot animation do not require files to be uploaded. If you choose only those mods then you get a download without a queue.

Yeah I have read that part. Basically I got a theme to work by uploading the theme chooser theme but NOT when I uploaded the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk. The theme chooser them would just be an installable apk after creating it, but I was trying to make a zip that I would flash in recovery. The file it output when I uploaded the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk wouldn't flash in recovery.

Granite knows how to do it. He made me one for Xplod I ran into the same issue I always get the error. I just thought I was stoopid but you just gave me hope
