Root Using Touchpal As Default Dialer

I'm using CM7 and have downloaded Touchpal and installed it as my default dialer. But when I hit the phone icon at the bottom of the home screen it takes me to the standard dialer instead of Touchpal. When it dials it then uses Touchpal.

Can I make Touchpal open when I hit the phone icon? It's easier to find my contacts through that program.

Crap...I did something wrong and now I have a star in place of the phone. Then, when I long press the star, it says nothing exists there and to drag something there...

Help!

Put Touchpad on your homescreen, then long press on it and drag it to the star. Not sure if that will work but it seems to be what it is telling you to do.

ADW is a little bit clumsier to set up the dock than the other launchers. But...it is built in to CM7 so I used it since it is just sort of there. In the end the three big launchers are all pretty similar.
