Verizon $29.99 car charger for $5.15

I just typed out this info on a members thread and thought I would post it up for anyone that needs a car charger for their new Bolt.

I purchased a Verizon car charger last week from Amazon for $5.15 with free super saver shipping. It's the exact charger that Verizon sells for $29.99

Don't purchase it through the "OEM Shop" for $4.89, the reviews say that they are not shipping out the Verizon branded charger but a generic instead. Click on the "29 New from $2.64" and then purchase it through amazon for $5.15.

I received the actual Verizon charger in the Verizon retail packaging with the $29.99 price tag on it. Used it today for the first time and it was a big improvement over my old car charger.
 
i signed up to try amazon prime to skip out on the shipping charges.... should receive it on thursday... hopefully it's as good as you say!
 
Good question. Unfortunately its not listed on the package, charger, or on any of the web sites I checked.

The charger it replaced was 500 and this one charges significantly faster. It's at least 700 and my guess is 1000.
 
got mine today..... just like the OP said, it came in the original boxing with $29.99 price tag! Can't wait to use it!
 
Got the Verizon charger today. It has an additional USB port to charge a second device - this was unexpected. Now I can take this charger on the road and charge my TBolt and my wife's iPhone with the same charger and at the same time without having to buy an Apple one.

I plugged it in on my way home from work today. My phone went from 30% to over 60% within about 30 mins. The phone got a little warm with this fast charge. Hope it's OK with the battery.

Yes.. this charger does make the phone a tad warm. I bought my phone today same exact charger and by the time I got home I noticed my phone was warm even through the silicone case. I too was surprised by the extra port to charge 2 devices.
