Try resetting your phone with *228. That worked for me and doubled my speed from .5kbps to 1.2mbps

I believe *228 is very ill advised for an LTE phone. I'm unsure if it's harmful or just ineffective for LTE phones, but it is not something I'd be eager to risk my phone on.
To the OP, try toggling airplane mode on and then off. You might be connected on a bad node on the tower. By forcing the phone to reconnect you should get a different node and HOPEFULLY get better speed.

Yeah, I thought I was responding to a similarly titled discussion in a different section (for a 4G phone). *228 works quite will for a 3G only phone.
