[Verizon] Cannot restore backup / will not boot - HELP!

I rooted my Gnex a week ago and flashed the latest Liquid rom. I made a few backups (a clean one as soon as I rooted, a clean liquid rom, and a customized one right before I began messing with it again) and then decided to check out CM9 nightly. I noticed that I would get an error when trying to install / restore through Rom Manager. It would take me to the clockwork recovery and mention the error, so I just took care of it manually. No big deal. After checking out CM9, I went to restore one of my previous backups and got an "MD5 Mismatch" error (or something like that, cannot remember and cannot recreate now) and it would not restore. This was the case with all of my backups, including my clean stock backup. I tried to install the Liquid Rom fresh from my "SD card". It seemed to install just fine (yes, I wiped both caches, battery stats, data, and fixed permissions first), but I ended up frozen on the "Google" boot screen. Now I am at a loss. First of all, I don't know how to get back to the clockwork recovery (thought it was volume down + power, but that takes me to the fastboot screen). How can I get this working again? I'm not opposed to reseting the entire process since I was having some problems with clockwork recovery prior to this. I used Wug's root tool.

Thanks!

egernant,

Did you happen to rename any of your ClockworkMod backups? (wonky characters like spaces and special characters will cause an MD5 mismatch error like you saw)

You can re-enter recovery from the fastboot screen by just toggling to the Recovery menu/screen by using the volume rocker when you are in the fastboot screen.

You can also get there by having your phone powered-off, then hold and press both the volume-up and volume-down buttons at the same time, then press and hold the power button until you see the recovery screen.

You should still have CWM installed and can attempt to restore one of your Nandroid backups.

If you had renamed them on you phone's SD card, you'll have to use adb (while in custom recovery) to connect to your phone and rename the files manually--its not too hard, but if you haven't done it before its a little confusing.

Let us know! :)

renaming... that's what came to my mind too. :D

Every time I type a period, it wants to add the space after, which I have to remove.
