[Verizon] Can't even begin to Root...

Press on the main Apps icon on the homescreen, then when it brings up all your apps, note the small Google Play icon in the upper right portion of the screen just under the clock.

I only flashed JB 3.7 and nothing else, that was all I could handle. DId I do something wrong?

That's the problem, I don't have that! I have no GMAIL, anything.

Oh I see. Depending on which rom you flashed, you will also need to flash a Google Apps (Gapps) package along with it. The Jellybelly rom is an example of such a rom. This will give you Google Play, Gmail and other Google related apps you are missing.

Thank you! That is what Chief meant by Gaps!
Okay, so I have this right, I need to open my folder again, bring the gaps over, but how to I run them again? I need to put the phone into fastboot mode again?

Yeah so you need the 7/18 Gapps linked in the OP:

[ROM] Jelly Belly v3.8 - 07/19/2012 - [JellyBean] [4.1.1] [Pure AOSP] - It's all about speed! - [VZW] Galaxy Nexus Development - RootzWiki

There are a few mirrors of the same file listed there. I suggest using the one with d-h.st in the link description. It's fast and reliable. Then you flash it just like you did the rom only you don't need to wipe anything this time, just go into clockwork recovery and install zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard, pick the 7-18 Gapps zip and you're in business, Then reboot to system when you're done. Obviously, you need to have the file on your sdcard ahead of time. Probably easiest just to download it straight to your phone if you have a good wireless connection or better yet 4G. Then it automatically goes to the downloads folder of the sdcard so look there.

I have those Gapps zipped and put them into my DL section of the phone. How to I get into CLockwork again? Do I use the ROM manager App, because I don't have that now and can't get it.

You can use Rom Manager to get to recovery but you can also just turn the phone off (make sure it's unplugged from the PC now). Once it's off, press and hold both volume buttons and the power button all at the same time until you feel a vibrate, then let off all the buttons. You will now see the bootloader. Use volume up to bring up recovery, then power button to enter recovery (i'm assuming it'll be clockwork). Then do the steps I mentioned in the previous post to flash the Gapps zip.

If it sits at the Google screen quite awhile after the flash, don't pull the battery, wait it out. Sometimes this happens especially on JB. It's normal.

You're doing great, atrain... almost there!

Recovery, flash 3.7 (or 3.8 now), AND gapps, then wipe Dalvik and go to Advanced and Fix Permissions! THEN reboot system now :)

Like Iowabowtech said: that first boot up will seem to take forever. DON'T PANIC! Get a drink or something...

Nope, worked perfectly. However, if I go to the MY APPS section of the store, I get a blank screen. Any idea about that?

Also, how so I put back all of my pics that I backed up onto my desktop? And by the way, EVERYONE here at this site is PHENOMENAL!!!

Hmm, when you first loaded up the rom, did you have to enter your Google username and password at phone setup? That is what should make all your Google apps, including the play store recognize you. Perhaps just give it a few more minutes to acclimate and make sure that you have an active wifi or data connection right now.

More I think about it, I remember people saying that auto app restore from Google wasn't working on JB. I did kinda figure the apps would be listed at the playstore at least though. I've never run into this because I always use Titanium Backup to retrieve my apps. You may want to move over to the Jellybelly thread now. Sounds like you're all up and running at this point at least. I hope you don't have to download all your apps again, but that may be the case.

My apps didn't restore when I went to Bugless Beast Jelly Bean. I ended up goign into the Play store on my PC to look at my previously installed apps then selected the ones to install back to my phone. Allowed me the opportunity to parse out what I really wanted back on my phone.

Okay, don't leave us hanging, atrain... are you back up & running? Restoring things? You're not in a bootloop or anything?

What's de status?

Haha, sorry. I'm so impressed that I started putting stuff back onto my phone! This sounds ridiculous, but I'm proud, haha!
Chief, I sent you a PM about what you sent to me a few posts ago. I didn't read it until just a few minutes ago so I'm up and running without doing what you said. Can I go back and do those things, or will that wipe everything I've done so far. Again, I CANNOT thank this community enough. YOU ALL RULE!!!! So great to see that being helpful isn't a lost art.
