Root [Verizon] Can't flash custom ROM

You don't need root (superuser/superSU) to flash ROMS, only a proper working recovery and a boot loader that will allow it.

I'd try reflashing TWRP as well

The problem is with the recovery . and its the op kernel that wont allow it say its rooted but the loader is locked .
Verizon always has to throw a wrench in things. :banghead:

So you think he may just need to reflash TWRP or is it a deeper seeded problem than that?

I really appreciate u taking the majority of ur day to help me! I'm still learning and I will take all the info I can get! Thanks!

Its helping both of us cause a root method has been in the works for a long time but nothing this is the best that they got done . but its not a problem to help and learn

Trik daddy, if you need any more assistance with rooting just let us know. I was pretty busy over the weekend, but I have made a few rooting guides and might be able to assist you through the process :)

Thanks Brainz and RX! :D

I've been on 4.4 for a few weeks and if I had known it was gonna be this much trouble, I would never updated! I'm on towelroot and have been for about a week and a half. When I try to download the bininaries on SU it tells me install failed. I have the nc2 kernel flashed. I have tried about every 4.4 rim out there and I can't get any of them to flash properly

I'm rooted thru towelroot. Aa far as I know thats the only way to root 4.4. I never had problems romming when I was on 4.3! I flashed roms constantly, but 4.4 is a bitch! If I would've known that 4.4 was like this, I would have never taken the update! I've been told that even through towelroot, ure not truly rooted. If that is the case, then why does Geohot advertise it as a rooting tool?

trik daddy, please check for me with that application, if you are rooted, because it sounds like that you are truly not rooted.

Once you let me know, we can take some new steps to hopefully getting you completely rooted :)

I think your just using the Ss aka safestrap wrong that's all minor mistake I did also. The funniest please Dont laugh . I checked all the settings and went to flash ROM . guess what I wiped everything including the contents on the SD card .:D:p yes I felt very stupid felt like kicking myself in the azz . and couldn't flash nothing not even the stock ROM . you know where it was stored at on the dammmm SD card . I was hotter than a hot summer day in the well above 300 degrees. But hey we live and learn . I cooled off and bam what you know another problem I BRICKED. So just know we all been there and done that .:D:rolleyes:

Did you try the method in the video and when you put the Ss apk on the device did you boot up in the app and set your slot 1 limit and then flash cause I think when you get the Ss your getting it mixed up on how to flash.

I've been flashibg roms for over a year and never had ANY problems until kitkat. At and point I had, including my stock, 3 roms on my phone. Stock, hyperdrive and baja
