Root [Verizon] Can't flash custom ROM

I would suggest to make a backup of your Stock slot and just try to flash the ROM into that slot.

It's what I have been doing on 4.4 and I haven't had any issues.

I tried that too. Did u just flash straight over top of the stock?

I backed up stock, then went into the delete and deleted the system, cache, data, dalvik cache, then installed the new ROM right on top of the Stock slot.

At the time it was the only option since I was and still am running SS 3.72 (beta).

Ok, I went in again and flashed the stock slot and still nothing. I must be doing something wrong somewhere, but im not doing anything different than what I was doing on 4.3! Do u think I should roll back to ss 3.72?

After you download the ROM, reboot into download mode.

Open up Odin and flash this over: JasmineROM - xda-developers DevDB

Ok, I m now at my wits end! There has got to be something somewhere that I'm not doing! I'm flashing roms just like I did on jellybean, the only difference is that in jellybean I never had a problem, but on kitkat its been nothing but trouble! If ANYONE can walk me through the procedure to see what I'm doing wrong, it would be greatly appreciated! I've got to get on a custom rom! Its right now 7:54 where I live and I unplugged my phone at 6:00 and as of now, my battery is already down to 77%! That IS NOT acceptable! I've done all I know to lengthen my battery life and its still that bad! 23% in less than 2 hours sucks!

Did you try flashing that firmware update I suggested via Odin?

Ok, so I'm not sure if I understand. Explain it for me like I'm a 5 year old...lol...step by step! I've already had to flash recover my phone twice because it keeps telling me "Fail"...

Direct from my guide:

Step 24: From here we want to load our own ROM onto this sucka! So put your ROM in the storage of your device

Step 25: This is important, under the Wipe section click Advanced and make sure to wipe system/data/dalvik/cache

Step 26: Install the Rom you chose, here is a link to a few good ones!: Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Android Development - xda-developers

Step 27: Afterwards reboot into Download again

Step 28: This is where you open up Odin and it should look like this: LINK

Step 29: Once it validates the md5 we can press start at the bottom and once it is done it will auto reboot and you will have 4.4.2 on your device!

No it didn't...I actually had to flash recover my phone ....I went thru the steps, flashed from in my slot #1, it said successful. I then rebooted to download and Odin would not recognize my phone....so I could not go any further...

Here ya go...

Lol, I really appreciate ur help with this! I've never had anyone help me like this on one of these forums! So, ok, Odin is 3.09 and all drivers are installed...as far as I know.

Okay so what happens when you plug the device into your computer?

Does it show up in Odin or? Make sure your device is in download mode :)

When I plug it into the computer, just the normal stuff pops up. When I bring up Odin, my phone always shows up. The only time that it didn't is when I went into DL mode out of SS. I'm always in DL mode when using Odin...
