[Verizon] Can't install youtube in jellybean

OP4500

Newbie
So I just installed android 4.1 jellybean for my verizon nexus, it is using the stock kernal, only mods are a wifi fix and compatibility for the verizon version. The play store says my device is not supported when I try to install youtube. I also tried restoring youtube 4.0.8 in titanium backup and it just gets stuck at the installing screen. Everything else works flawlessly so far.

Which version of JB rom did you install? It comes with youtube. Why did you need to restore youtube with titanium?

It was JDKOReclipse 2.1 with wifi fix. found at the bottom of this thread. It had google apps removed to save space because the mirrors kept going down, didn't think it would matter.

Ahh okay I didn't know they had a version without gapps.

So when you first installed v2.1 and you didn't have gapps, you went to market to dnld youtube it said device not supported, okay. Did you reboot and try again? Had you updated the market yet? Sometimes those 2 things can help.

Have you got this fixed yet or can you just dirty re-flash a new version (one without gapps removed) of 2.1? Just wipe dalvik and cache partition then reflash v2.1 from here

I will give that a try, it came with the play store, and google now/offline voice. Maps, gmail, and drive all installed fine from the app store.

Also... imo youtube sucks, so when I ran into issues with it just installed Tubemate. Same thing, but far superior to youtube, you can even DL the videos in different qualities and save the video as an MP3. Just my $.02
