Verizon CFO: Thunderbolt launching 'very shortly'

I mean, I just don't care for Samsung products...they're ugly :)

I'll take ugly with better performance than sleek with crappy performance any day when it comes to cell phones. What use is having a "pretty" looking phone if it locks up because of lesser RAM, a slower processor? You may as well jump to the iPhone since that one's one of the "prettier" phones out there.

Agreed rocky!

HTC will lose the most, but VZW takes a hit as well.

Serious question...what do you think the sequence is right now? Verizon to HTC: "hey, make this thing play right so we can release it!" OR HTC to Verizon: "hey, stop tweaking things and costing us all money and get this thing released!" I guess it could only be one way if we assume that HTC has been done for awhile now and it has all been in Verizon's hands. HTC's emails when asked have all indicated it's verizon's call. So, maybe I answered my own question.

But the TB doesn't have crappy performance, with less ram, or a slower processor. It's a beast.

I'll wait for that real phone

If performance were the same, then the tie breaker is obviously aesthetics. I took the same approach when I bought my GTO, sure it wasn't a visual stunner like a Mustang GT was when I bought it in 2006, but when I was lined up next to a Mustang GT at a stoplight, I made them look like their V6 counter-part when the light would go green.

Give me a phone with better specs and I'll learn to live with the fact that it's not as sleep as an iPhone. We'll see which phone looks sleeker when trying to launch a flash-enabled website. (yes I know jailbroken iPhones can run some form of Flash).

In your race to 45 mph?!

Not quite the point, is it? We were talking about Android phones.

In my race to the speed limit...

Even top end, since removing my governor I'm probably good for 160-ism MPH, which is better than Mustang's governed 120 MPH. In 6th gear at 75 MPH I'm cruising at 1500 RPM and have about 5000 more RPM at my disposal.

And the point being is I was talking to Jay, so what's YOUR point?

And off-topic (although related to bjanow's post), why is everyone so hung up about staying on topic on this forum? Let the flow of the thread take it's course. Or are we such control freaks that we must try to control even the flow of a conversation? /rant

Neither can win, since if it released with issues, a LOT more folks would be hollering and their service costs would be high.

Best to just deal with folks in forums and customers at stores asking WHEN it will release, rather than a lot more asking WHY did they release it?! ;)

Couldn't agree with that statement more.

Well...there comes a time when one must go to work. So, enjoy the mid-week wait good people! CFO statements aside, release dates have become as erratic as a Charlie Sheen rant!

But I'll still be back tonight for a recap! :)

No reason to use that kind of language on here. Hehe!

haha, way to display your Charlie Sheen-esque addiction, but to Android and not hot blondes and drugs....

And, now that we have the Samsung Stealth V apparently breathing down the Thunderbolt's neck:

Samsung Stealth V 4G To Beat HTC Thunderbolt To Verizon?

I'd imagine HTC has incentive to try to speed things up too. Much as I love Sense it would be hard to resist another LTE phone if it launched first.

The TB showed up on the FCC website a while ago. It may be coming soon, but VZW would be advertising it as part of their 4G campaign if it were going to be released soon. As of now, the TB is the only 4G phone they're showing off on their site.

We have to stay on topic as much as possible, or the Mods will be in here clearing it out faster then Thunderbolts on sale at BB! lol Please, please, P U H L E A S E can we just skip the snarkyness for 1 day. The phone will be here soon, let's not let the real info get lost in the shuffle. :D
