Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to post this, if not my apologies.

So, I just installed a custom mod for my first time (XenonHD) and everything seems to be going pretty good so far except for one thing.

My normal practice has always been to keep a backup of my contacts in a PST file on my desktop, and sync to my phone via Kies. Now that I'm modded that doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternate apps (preferably free ones, but not required) that will do that for me?

First of all, welcome to AF, jmiller43! And congrats on your first Mod.

As far as contacts go, I just make sure that all my contacts are Google contacts personally, that way they will automatically come back via Google sync. I do believe Titanium Backup will also restore contacts for you though.

+1 for this. Just make sure under Settings>Backup & reset that "Back up my data" is checked. Also, under Settings>Accounts>Google sync Contacts is checked. Then when you sign into your G account after flashing a new ROM, it'll give you the option to backup/restore your data using Google. Say yes and voila!

I agree with all the above. Google is the best way via a gmail account to migrate your contacts from rom to rom and android device to android device.

I am curious, did you already use Kies with the Galaxy Nexus or did you also use it with a previous phone and if so, what model was that?

Android Sync will backup and sync with .PST file.
