[Verizon] Help! First time root/ROM

Crudes

Member
Hi,

I just rooted my phone and it went flawlessly thanks to the all in one app that Steven posted.

However, I went right to the AOKP ROM and installed the latest but my phone seems stuck with the pink unicorn and "Team Kang" endlessly flashing! What do I do?

THanks

Crudes,

Did you do any wipes in ClockworkMod?

Here's the process I used when I installed AOKP:

- copy the AOKP.zip and Google apps.zip files to SD card
- boot into ClockworkMod
- advanced -> Wipe Davlik Cache
- return to main screen (Go Back)
- go to mounts and storage screen
- format /system
- format /cache
- format /data
- mount /system (not really sure this is necessary)
- return to main screen
- install zip from sdcard
- choose zip from sdcard
- select aokp_toro_build-##.zip (or whatever ROM you've selected)
- confirm flash
- select and flash aokp_gapps-ics-403-011312.zip (flash Google apps)
- confirm flash
- reboot
- go through setup, etc.

I'm betting you just missed a wipe or two...just re-invoke CWM and do the wipes above and you should be okay.

Cheers!

edit: aw man, I ninja'd by you! (which is awesome :) ;))...cheers, glad you are okay now.
