[Verizon] Jelly Bean boot up problems

Did you flash the Jellybean bootloader? It is available at Peter Alfonso's site.

Yes, and every kind and version of root tool kit to take her down to factory and wiping from all directions and several versions of recovery.

I'm just glad I am so happy with my AOKP B38 Leankernel.

I've had it until Verizon sends it out OTA, and then I have my doubts.

I think it will be released mid to late september or early october for us verizon customers... if it is even released at all in all honesty(it will be)

but you never know, verizon is a big company and can pretty much do whatever they want.

Well, that certainly is alot of effort and trouble.

All I did was while in recovery, make nandroid backup, wipe dalvik, wipe data/cache, flash JB rom of choice, flash associated gapps package, then flash the JB bootloader. In that order. Then reboot into android. Profit. No problems at all for me.

Lucky you. I took it back to stock again and tried again with no luck. I did the same for Code Name Android and go t the same.

How long did you guys have to wait at the first Boot Animation after the flash?

Just reporting my results...

Using the JB bootloader and AOKP Built 1, I sit at the Google Logo for about 2 minutes before it completes the boot. When I first flashed the rom, it sat for about 5 minutes. I did a clean install.

Since being on this rom, I flashed the Leankernal from Franko's app. Not sure if it helps at all with battery but I'm trying it.

2 minutes of hangtime is tolerable but still annoying. Probably not enough to drop back to ICS though.

I have tried it for the last time today. I have tried it all. Everything I read here, Rootz, XDA, Googled. some of my own experiments, NADA! :-(

I'm Done

Sorry to hear that. I guess this is a classic case of "YMMV".

For the record, when I did my JB flash as detailed above (or any other flash on any other phone which wipes data/cache/dalvik cache), I didn't bother even timing the 'boot' or messing with it at all until I would then casually glance down and see that the screen was off. By then I know the phone has booted up and got itself started to the point that it has now turned off the screen. Now it's ready.
