[Verizon] [MOD] Nova Launcher-Folder Images (revised 2/24)

Can you expand on this? Where are the images located when accessing on a PC?

In the zip (system/app/NovaLauncher.apk >> res/drawable xhdpi) there are .png's w/ "portal". Just swap the images and rezip.

Also, I will probably be updating to Beta 13 tonight after work. I see that custom folder icons have been included in this build, so I'll have to check and see how that works. From what I can tell, it replaces the folder with a single icon, and does not change the background (slightly disappointing that the dev hasn't included the ability to change the background yet).

Will update later tonight.

The apk can be opened with winrar ( should be able to open with root explorer too)

You do not need to use abd to flash this. Just reboot to recovery and install the zip.

I suppose in root explorer you can copy the new "portal" image files, mount system as r/w and paste the new .pngs to overwrite the old ones.

blah i tried to do what you did. Sure seemed like i did it right with copying the portal png from beta 13 to your invisi file but nah, beta 13 regular stayed

You would have to copy the "invisible" portal_whatever.png files to the system/app/Noava Launcher/res/drawable xhdpi folder in root explorer AFTER installing beta 13, not copy the beta 13 png's, or is that what you tried and you mis-typed?

Not sure why not, as that's not how I like doing it (I find it alot easier to just flash in CWM).

Also, OP Updated with Beta13 based mods. I also changed the platform mod so it doesn't show the square outline when the folders open.

Any updates on this and tying it in with the latest version of Nova and how it has a folder selection?

Nova Launcher allows you to select an icon as a folder, but does not allow you to replace the folder background. Therefore, you can either use the "default" (or in this case modded) folder image which allows your apps to show like normal, or select only an icon that represents that folder without a background that does not allow your apps to show.

P.S. More goodies coming soon. Uploading now

K Folks.. added 4 new styles, but multi-upload is broken and I'm too tired to upload anywhere else. I will attempt again in the AM but pics are up!

:)

Hey, been a while. Nova 14 just came out. and no longer a system app or watever? so Any chance of updating your invisible folder to 14?

Hey I did extract the apk and when it tries to install it'll give the x and application not installed. Was also wondering when u open a folder for the invisible mod, does there have to be that black background?

Don't extract the apk, just pull the apk out if the zip file (or just flash the whole zip).

The background when the folder is open does NOT need to be there, BUT, it does not look good with no background... see my rootzwiki thread for a screen shot in the comment

Im using codename 1.20 and running into your problem. I copied the apk off to my pc... overwrote the files in the apk.. then adb pushed the apk back and nothing..no read/write errors everything went smoooth... same folders =( no invisible ones..... maybe there is a diff area for the folder icons in codename CNDLauncher.apk??

Are you trying to install Nova launcher or mod code names launcher?

Mod codenames launcher... found the CNDlauncher.apk, copyied to pc...opened with winrar.. found the 3 files needed to replace in the drawable-xhdi folder, overwrote them, adb pushed the apk back to system/app no errors... rebooted... folders still have the circle...

could it be that those 3 files are pulled from a different folder? I found 2 of the files in the drawable-sw600dp-xhdpi , but not really sure if those needs to be overwritten..

I also made sure i gave the folder r/w with root explorer before adb pushing

I also used root explorer to copy the apk to my pc... should i have pulled it via adb?
