They have done away with the regular early upgrades and NE2 in favor of these targeted early upgrade/additional discount promos to those customers that are the most profitable/most likely to churn.

The $100 is a credit Verizon gives you and applies to your monthly bill. If one of those phones is a feature phone, you should be eligible.

We flipped my wife's feature phone to a Droid 1 about 5 months ago and locked in unlimited data. Something tells me I'd rather have that cake than this $100 pie.
