Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

I am in no rush. I will first go to Best Buy to find out if there is any advantage by pre-ordering through them first. If no advantage, then I will pre-order through Verizon's web site later today.
 
Just put the order in with Verizon for a 32GB Blue. The order says ship date of 6/6/2012. Typo? or did I just get lucky?
 
Pre-order in for the Samsung Galaxy S III 32GB in Blue:

UPGRADE FEE $30.00
Discount - Customer Qualified -$150.00

Says "Ship By 7/9/12".

What's up with the darn upgrade fee though???? I thought that was only for early upgrades?
 
Oh well, no S3 for me this AM, gotta head to work. Who's up for a false advertising class action lawsuit?
 
Unreal.............how many of you were in the Nexus thread hearing all the release date rumors? Everyone on earth was using the SII while VZW waited to release "something we would like" that still to this day doesn't work for half who buy it. 6 months for a Nexus update while the rest of the GSM world had updates already!
AT&T will sell the phone on June 18th or earlier. While you wait for "the best network" until mid July ???????

End of rant..........as you can tell.............sick of VZW and their antics!!
 
I got my 32GB white on order and mine says 6/6 too. There is no way in h*ll our phones are shipping today. With that said, screw Verizon for holding up this phone. Even US Cellular folks might get theirs sooner. AT&T is shipping the 18th of June.
 
I got a 32GB white and also says 6/6/2012 but i think its just the date for if we ordered a regular phone out right now but since its pre ordered that date does not count for us.
 
mine says the same but I was able to keep my unlimited data so Im happy. If the other carriers get it on the 20th then that blows.
 
SORRY FOUND OUT THIS IS ACCOUNT BASED.

So I was going to upgrade via the web...but decided to call instead. During ordering she said she though she saw a discount. And ends up I got $100 off my Samsung Galaxy S II 16GB in Blue. On my order form I just got in my e-mail it states the following:
Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB in Blue $199.99
UPGRADE FEE $30.00
Discount - Customer Qualified -$100.00


Granted after their $30 Activation fee and sales tax (10.07) it came out to a total of $140.06

P.S. She did not tell me if this discount was just for my plan or for everyone. She however was one of the nicest Verizon reps I have ever talked to in my life!
 
You had a discount on your line all along. I had the same discount sitting on my line since April, and I've gotten texts and flyers in the mail stating the same.

To repeat, THIS IS NOT A PROMOTION FOR EVERYONE. It's account and line-based.

They need the extra time to install all that bloatware! Only so I have to root it to remove it :/
 
I was just searching to see if anyone else came across a large discount on their order. I got a $150 discount on mine this morning. If I had known about it I would have ordered the 32GB model instead.
