Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

You have a tracking number? And it shipped on the third? How did you order (Website, phone, in store, or somewhere else)? Also, what day did you order? Also, do you live in an extramly rural area?

The reason I get a hold of mine by 8AM is because I'm a FedEx courier, and I just gotta get the courier that delivers to my home to pull it and bring it to me in the morning. But immediately after that I have to run MY route till 2:30PM or so. Cough, cough... gotta leave early boss!

Guys, this phone is amazing, it's lighting fast, the 4G is super fast, call quality is good in my area. It's not too big, like people say, battery is decent so far, I've been using it for several hours straight now, downloading, changing settings, playing with the live wallpapers etc.

I agree with everything except for battery life. I've only been playing with it for about an hour and I'm already at 50% battery! It was fully charged and off before then and was finally able to activate it.
 
It looks like I got burned by Verizon / Chase. I received an email that my order was on hold, followed 15 minutes later by a fraud prevention call from Chase. I guess despite the fact that I have had monthly payments to Verizon for many years they thought that the phone order might be fradulent. I told them it wasnt fradulent and called Verizon back. If i want the phone now I have to re-order and under no circumstances can I keep the unlimited data.

Thanks Chase and Verizon, looks like i will be looking for a new wireless provider and new credit card company.

Did you try this link? Once you put in your preorder information it comes up with a screen to modify your payment.

I wish I knew about it, I had to cancel an order from 6/14 on 6/26 and reorder because of a credit card change. I lost my place in line because of it.
 
Ordered 32gb Pebble Blue 6/11 at 11:30 pm eastern in NC. Charge Card was billed this afternoon. Checked order at VZW shows no tracking number yet. But it's coming!!!
 
I ordered day 1 at about 4pm cst. 32GB Blue, online.

Credit card was charged earlier this afternoon, just got shipping notification, estimated arrival, tomorrow by 3pm.

I just made a test call also and it sounds okay. I didn't call anyone in particular, but it sounds very clear on my end!

LTE! I cant wait to use it. One more day....
 
No one seems to want to say how reception is...that doesn't seem to be a good indicator so far.

I didn't want to post yet seeing how it's too early to tell, but I did notice I had no bars in some local areas when I went to pick up my kids. Never had that problem before with my Droid X. I gotta do some more testing later...
 
/me Just called My bank to pre-auth the Verizon Purchase. So when it comes through they will not hold it "to keep me safe from bad people making these types of purchases".

I think this is a good suggestion. I won't be gettting my S3 until monday because Chase actually called me on the 4th! to ask if several charges were accurate. One of them was for the Verizon S3. That's probably why its being shipped today on the 5th instead of the 3rd :(
 
[RANT]I have come to the conclusion that there is absolutely NO method to this madness. People who ordered at the same time and same locations are getting very different results. Some in hand some waiting till the 9th - 11th to ship. Some shipping next day, some shipping 2 Day...

This is just crazy. I ordered day one and I am still not in the shipping queue.[/RANT]

You can buy it off-contract and keep your unlimited or am I missing something?
 
so it seems like there are quite a few people that got overnight shipping. :/ Mine is still sitting in the picked up status in PA. I wish all of us received overnight shipping. I have a feeling the status isn't going to update to in transit till tomorrow. :(

So, when the preorder page was up at the end it asked for the CC info but no name, I used my card on my wife's verizon account. I am assuming they will try to process my card with her name on it. Did anyone receive their sgs3 in this situation?

We called and they said it would process fine and they don't need the name, but if that is true or not I won't find out for sure until it gets charged.

I notice on the https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/iconic/screens/IconicSearchInit.do page there is a way to change payment info, will that cause the plan I am on (I do not want the unlimited share plan) to change?

This happened to me but fortunately Verizon is going to fix my unlimited so I can keep that, I just need to wait for the phone to come in around the 12th or 13th if not backordered, Just call Verizon really angrily like I did when they told me my order was dropped and no one informed me of this.

I ordered online and it didn't give me the option, or I would have chosen free overnight shipping, since their website was advertising that.
